Season Start: Nov 14, 2022 in dryland until Afton Alps is open to skiers.  These practices are Monday-Thursday 4p-5:30p at a TBD location.  

On the hill training usually starts after Thanksgiving at Afton Alps.  OTH practice is Monday - Thursday 4p-6p.

Races: There are 5 conference races typically on Tuesdays and occasionally on Thursday's starting in January.  We co-host an invite at Afton Alps which is in later portion of our season.  February 8 is Sections at Wild Mtn and February 14 is State at Giants Ridge.

Lift Tickets: Lift tickets or passes are needed and purchased by the athletes family for Afton Alps.  Away meets, Sections and State lifts tickets are covered by the district.

Ability:  No prior race experience is needed to join the team, but you do need to know how to ski.  The hills we practice and/or compete on at Afton are Hills 1, 2 & 7.

Transportation:  There will be no transportation provided for any practices or meets due to the shortage in bus drivers.  Carpooling is recommended and arranged by families.  

Equipment: Athlete needs to provide their own skis, poles, boots, helmet and other safety equipment is optional.  

The 2022-2023 informational meeting will be held at Park High School in the Lecture Hall on November 1, 2022 at 6pm.

Woodbury High School advanced two alpine skiers to the MSHSL State Meet held on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Giants Ridge. Senior Elanore Robb finished 3rd in the section meet and this will be her third time advancing to the state meet as in individual. Tenth Grader Bennett LeVander, has attend state the past 2 years as a team participant. In 2023, he advanced as an individual competitor placing seventh in sections.

Alpine Ski Meet Results

Congratulations to our WHS students that participated in the MSHSL Alpine State Ski Meet on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Giants Ridge. Senior Elanore Robb finished in 13th place.  Her times were 39.47 and 39.87 for a combined time if 1:19.34.  Tenth Grader Bennett LeVander finished in 14th place.  His times were 38.88 and 39.65 for a combined time of 1:18.53.
