Scott Waldo

Coach Waldo has been a stalwart working with youth, high school and AAA hockey in the East Metro since 1996.  He brings a depth of knowledge and experience to the WHS Girls Hockey Program having coached girls hockey at many levels.  Most recently, Coach Waldo has been a varsity assistant at East Ridge working with the girls program for the past 5 years. Since 2015, Coach Waldo has coached with Tommy Chicago AAA U-19 Tier 2 team, earning the 2020 CCM World Invite Championship. He also is a coach with the Girls MN Hockey High Performance Program at the U15 and U14 levels from 2020.  In 2022, he was selected to be an instructor at the HP national camp tryouts and has been a head coach in the Girls Premier Prep League since 2019. In 2022, his Premier Prep League Team was a Tier 2 National Invite participant.  Prior to becoming an assistant varsity coach, he worked in the Cottage Grove Youth Association from 1996-2017 coaching girls hockey U6-U15 while his daughter advanced through the program. Prior to coaching girls, he spent 5 years coaching the Bantam A team in CGHA where he led one of his teams to a state tournament appearance. 

Coach Waldo brings strong hockey coaching experience, proactive communication and a knack for motivating players. He will infuse enthusiasm for girls hockey in our youth association and engage Woodbury High School Hockey within our youth association. 

Graduating from Park High School, Coach Waldo works at 3M as Medical Sales Representative with a Bachelors of Science in International Business. 

Dan Schabacker

Assistant Varsity Coach

Dan Schabacker has more than 15 years of coaching experience from the youth level to more recently coaching at the high school level.  The 2022/2023 season was the first year he coached East Ridge Girls Junior Varsity team.  Dan has also coached AAA with Tommy Chicago since 2017 winning the 2020 CCM World Invite Tier 2 Championship in Detroit, MI. Prior to that Dan was involved in coaching at the youth level in the Cottage Grove Hockey Association since 2010.

Dan grew up in West St Paul and played youth hockey. Dan has worked for Advance Corporation for over 30 years. He currently lives in Cottage Grove with his wife, Kristen and two children, Allison and Austin.  Allison is a graduate of St. Ben’s and Austin is a graduate of St. John’s University.  Dan brings great enthusiasm and sense of humor to the players he coaches. 

Sarah Ahlquist Schneider

JV Head Coach

Sarah has coached at the high school level for over 15 seasons, mostly as an assistant/goalie coach.  Sarah was a member of coaching staff for South St. Paul's 2005 and 2006 State Championship teams.

Sarah still plays competitively at the international level as a goalie for both the USA Women's National Bandy team and USA Women's Masters Ball Hockey team. From South St. Paul, she played one season of boys' varsity hockey and two seasons of girls' varsity hockey for the Packers.  Sarah is a two-time All-State selection, and MSHSL record-holder (19 shutouts in a single season). She played four years of Division-I hockey at Princeton University and was All-Ivy League selection and played on the inaugural Minnesota Whitecaps team.

Sarah serves as a school social worker at Woodbury HS and lives in Woodbury with husband, Billy, and five beautiful cats. Billy plays the role of his father, Buzz Schneider, in the movie "Miracle". 

Duane Lindahl

Goalie Coach and Assistant JV Coach

Most recently, Duane was the goalie coach and assistant JV coach for the East Ridge Girls Hockey program from 2018-2023. Prior to that Duane coached for the Cottage Grove Hockey Association at all levels of the girls program since 2008, including a 12U state tournament appearance in 2015. Also participated on the Goalie Committee and Development from 2014-2019.

Duane is involved in the MN Hockey High Performance program since 2018, coaching 14U girls in District 8 in both the Spring and Fall Tier I/II programs. In Fall 2022, Duane was part of a group that qualified for the USA Hockey National Championships that took place this past March/April in Irvine, CA.

Duane is an instructor at the Moline FUNdamentals Goalie Camp since 2015.

Outside of hockey Duane has been married for 25 years with 2 daughters ages 23 and 22.  He works as a Life Underwriter with Corebridge Financial.
