Royals finish 7th at Eastview Invite; Moesenthin takes home title

Woodbury finished 7th at the Eastview Invitational over the weekend as a team, with Brady Moesenthin taking home an individual title.

For the Junior Varsity, Ethan Chaney took 1st in his pool, while Caleb Howe, Ryan Holt, Logan Ryan, Nick Howe and Thomas Moesenthin all finished as runners-up.  Kaiden Kirby, Nashawn Hoyer and Dave Hawley finished 3rd in their pools, and Phil Wiggins finished 4th.

For the Varsity, Alex Braun finished 3rd, Cade Johnson finished 5th, Will Bents finished 4th, Moesenthin finished 1st, Brock Rinehart finished 2nd, Ahmed Abdelal finished 6th, Donald Nde finished 2nd and Mason Barrows finished 5th.

This week, the Royals travel to White Bear Lake (North Campus) on Thursday to take on the Bears.  JV starts at 5:30, with Varsity starting at 7:00.

On Saturday, the team will split to two locations:  the 9th Grade Section Tournament will take place at Richfield HS (start time TBD).  Some wrestlers 9th grade and younger will travel to Richfield to take a shot at qualifying for the 9th Grade State Tournament.

In addition, the majority of the squad wil be at Bloomington Kennedy HS for the Kennedy Duals.  Participating teams in addition to the Royals are Kennedy, Champlin Park, Hastings, Minnetonka, Owatonna, Simley and Zumbrota-Mazeppa,  Both Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestlers will compete, with action starting at 9:00am.
