The Royals dropped duals to ranked teams Faribault and Delano, but defeated Eastview in a tight match on Saturday at Robbinsdale Armstrong HS.

The Royals opened with #13AAA Faribault, losing 53-11.  Winning for the Royals were Cole West (MD), Brock Rinehart (MD) and Donald Nde (dec). 

The Eastview match was exciting and came down to the final matchup.  Winning for the Royals:  West (fall), Cedric Ramos (FFT), Nick Howe (dec), Omar Abdelal (FFT), Rinehart (fall), Nde (dec) and Alex Mancera (fall).  Mancera's pin clinched the dual in a 36-34 Woodbury victory.

The Royals finished the day with #7AA Delano.  The only points for Woodbury in the 57-3 defeat were from West's decision.

For the junior varsity, the Royals produced 3 champions and 3 runners-up.  Winning their weight classes were Ryan Holt, Nashawn Hoyer and Tyler Anderson.  Finishing 2nd were Logan Ryan, Daryl dela Paz and Denis Tokin.

And congratulations to Thomas Moesenthin, who went 1-2 at the 9th Grade State Tournament.

Up Thursday for the Royals, in their final event of the regular season, they will host the White Bear Lake Bears.  The team will be recognizing the seniors in the program during the evening.  Junior Varsity starts at 5:30pm, senior recognition will start at approximately 6:40pm and varsity is slated to begin at 7:00pm.  Hope to see a BIG crowd for the final regular season event!
