How to Apply

Each year in April, WHS NHS publishes an application for membership for the following year.  The application is a resumé of service and leadership accomplishments, and four essays that emphasize the four NHS pillars: leadership, service, scholarship, and character.  Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.7, and they may be asked to submit a teacher recommendation.

The NHS Faculty Advisory Committee, a group of five teachers from different departments, evaluates all applications.  Applicants that are accepted will attend the last General Meeting of the year before being officially inducted into the National Honor Society.

Application Procedure

  • All materials are due on Friday, April 26th, 2024.

  • Email Mr. Welsch or Ms. Nicholas if you have questions.

Candidates must complete the APPLICATION for membership:

  • Make a  COPY of  the NHS Application; follow all directions.

  • Follow all directions in the Application

  • SUBMIT the URL to your shared application.

Candidates must submit ONE TEACHER RECOMMENDATION

  • Request a recommendation from a current WHS Teacher in person. 

  • Email the URL for the NHS Teacher Recommendation Form to the teacher.

  • Your Application will NOT be considered without a completed teacher recommendation.
