True Team Section 2AAA - May 9, 2017

The True Team Section 2AAA was held on May 9, 2017 at Eagan High School. The true team series was originated in 1987 by the State Track and Field  Coaches Association, to address the need in Track and Field for a True TEAM competition. In previous years, a team with a few elite athletes could win the “Team Championship” in a large meet.  The Coaches felt the Team Championship should be won by the best TEAM. Woodbury Girls Track and Field Team placed 5th overall. The meet results are posted below.

Wayzata Relays - May 5, 2017

The Wayzata Relays was held on May 5, 2017. Congratulations Maya Cochrane!

It is my pleasure to congratulate Maya Cochrane on qualifying and competing in the Shot Put event at the 2017 Hamline Elite Meet held at Hamline University on April 28, 2017. An athlete must qualify for this meet with a result recorded during the 2017 Season. Maya qualified for the event with an outstanding throw of 40' 6" (posted at the Rosemount Dual on April 18, 2017). Her qualifying mark also broke the Woodbury High School Shot Put record (previously held by former WHS Track and Field Coach Kaycee Moore).

Maya placed 9th overall at the Hamline Elite Meet! Congratulations Maya Cochrane on an outstanding performance!

GoFundMe Fundraiser

Our Parent Booster organization has been busy developing new ideas to bring funds into our WHS Track and Field Booster Club. In April, our team will be carrying out a "GoFundMe" fundraiser campaign!

For those unfamiliar with "GoFundMe", it is the world's largest social fundraising platform. Each athlete has been asked to send a list of 10-20 email addresses for this fundraiser. Athletes and/or Parents can send names of friends, family, or business associates. We need to collect these name/email addresses by MARCH 25, 2017 so the Booster club will have time to compile the contact lists by the April 1 campaign start date. PLEASE DO NOT WAIT!

A document has been created to record the collected emails. It has been included below. Please send the completed email list to: -OR- give the list to Coach DJ at Track practice this week.

Thank you very much for your help and support!
