Woodbury High School Gymnastics Team

The Woodbury High School Activities Department is proud to announce Amy Pechmann has been selected as the next Head Coach of the Royals Gymnastics program! Go Royals!

Fundraiser: We will be having a fundraiser at Chipolte on November 15th between 4-8.  When you go there you have to say that you are there to support Woodbury High School Gymnastics.  I will be making copies of the flyer for the girls to spread around the school.  Please mark your calendar!

Captain's practices: Start Tuesday October 4th.  Meet your captain's 3:30 on the track.  Captain's practice will be on Tuesday's and Thursday's (3:30-5:00) until the season begins.  Ask your captain's if you have more questions.

Leotards: Leotards have been ordered.  If you are new to the team, let us know ASAP so we can get your leo ordered. Also if you have not yet paid for the leo's please get your checks into the athletic director's office. Please have the checks (payable to Woodbury High School gymnastics team).

Floor music: Please get your floor music to captain Hannah so that her father can put it on the I-pad by the start of the season.  Have it to Hannah by November 12th.  Also, start putting together your choreography for your routine and coach Pechmann will help make sure all the requirements are in the routines.  A great place to look for ideas is youtube.  Ask your captains for help as well.

There will be a parent/gymnast meeting held on 27th at 6:00pm in the media center.  Please plan on having at least one parent and the gymnast attend.

The 2016-2017 Season will begin on November 14th.  See you in the gym!

Meet our captains!

Hannah Simon

My names Hannah Simon and i've been doing gymnastics for 11 years. I did gymnastics for Rising Stars at the age of 5 to about 12 years old, then i joined the Woodbury High School gymnastics team in 7th grade. Im now a sophomore in high school and this will be my 4th year on the team. I'm looking forward to meeting many new girls that join the team and getting to know one another throughout the gymnastics season. Outside gymnastics I love hanging out with my friends and playing softball. Woodbury High School gymnastics is a great program and i'm super exited to start this new season!

Hayley Lind

My name is Haley, and I'm a senior this year. This will be my third year on the Woodbury Gymnastics team, and my second year as a captain. Before I joined the high school team, I did club gymnastics for about 6 year at Elite Gymnastics Academy.

Amanda Van Well

My name is Amanda Van Well. I am a junior this year and this is my second year as a captain. I have been on the high school team since I was in 7th grade, before that, I did club at Crowleys. My favorite event is beam! I am really looking forward to a great season!

2016 Warm Up Leo's

Would you like to get a reminder text message of meet, event, times and updates?  Just follow the instructions and you will be added to the Woodbury High School Gymnastics group line.  This will only be accessed by myself and will be used to update important events, and give friendly reminders of upcoming meets, events, and bus departures.  I hope this helps in the commucication between all gymnasts families.

Royal Updates

  • Starting in May each year, the Captains will be communicating team bonding events where all current and future gymnasts are very welcomed and highly encouraged to join in, so that we can learn about each other.
  • Off Season is where we make some of the greatest improvements, through increasing strength, mental toughness and also technique to get bigger skills. I encourage everyone to take advantage of the off season!
  • Start thinking about goals for next season and how you will accomplish those goals.

-Robert Schuller

“As long as you’ve done your best, making mistakes doesn’t matter. You and I are human; we will mess up. What counts is learning from your mistakes and getting back up when life has knocked you down.”

-Shawn Johnson

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says 'I'm possible'!

Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.
