Both the JV and varsity squads did well at the Cannon Falls tournament on Saturday, including 7 varsity wrestlers placing.  Overall, the team placed 4th, doing so without captains Cole West and Brady Moesenthin.  The Royals finished with 110 points, behind Hutchinson, Dover/Eyota and Byron.

Both Brock Rinehart (145) and Donald Nde (195) went undefeated in their respective brackets and took home individual titles.  Also placing for the Royals: Cade Johnson (113)-6th, Will Bents (120)-6th, Nick Sieczkowski (152)-4th, Sam Ellis (160)-6th and Max Fick (220)-3rd.  Championships were also earned on the JV side by Logan Ryan, Omar Abdelal, Travis Pham and Daryl dela Paz.

Below are the place winners on the junior varsity side:

4th place:  Noah Golden and Ryan Holt

3rd place:  Tyler Anderson

2nd place:  Antonio Rizzo, Cedric Ramos, Nick Howe, Nashawn Hoyer and Ethan Chaney

1st place:  Logan Ryan, Omar Abdelal, Travis Pham and Daryl dela Paz

The Royals will host Forest Lake on Thursday, January 11 at Woodbury HS.  Thursday is Parent Night--JV action starts at 5:30pm with varsity to follow at 7:00pm.
