The Royals wrestling squad was overmatched Thursday night at Mounds View High School, 56-18.  The Mustangs led from the start and never looked back as the Royals won just 3 of 14 matches.

Brady Moesenthin, Brock Rinehart and Alex Mancera all won by fall for Woodbury.  Mancera was making his varsity debut for the season.

The junior varsity saw much more success against Mounds View.  Noah Golden and Ryan Holt were 1-1 (both had wins by fall), with Dave Hawley and Denis Tokin (decisions) and Omar Abdelal and Nashawn Hoyer (fall) picking up victories.

Next up for the Royals is a trip to Cannon Falls on Saturday morning.  Action starts at 9am in this individual tourney for both varsity and JV squads.  Teams included:  Austin, Byron, Cannon Falls, Dover-Eyota, Henry Sibley, Hutchinson, Kimball, Pine Island, Rochester Century, Sauk Rapids-Rice, St. Agnes, St. Charles, St. Paul Johnson, Trinity School at River Ridge and Wabasha-Kellogg.
