The Royals wrestling squad went 1-2 at Maple Grove Wednesday night, beating St Paul Harding and losing close duals to both Maple Grove and Minnetonka.

Against section foe Harding, Cade Johnson, Will Bents, Brady Moesenthin, Brock Rinehart and Sam Ellis all won by fall, and four consecutive Harding forfeits at the top weights enabled the Royals to win, 51-28.

A tough Maple Grove squad was next.  Johnson won a very tough 7-5 OT decision and Bents, Rinehart and Max Fick won by pin.  However, an additional forfeit by Maple Grove wasn't enough, as the Royals fell, 39-33.

The Royals then faced a very much improved Minnetonka team.  Pins by Johnson, Moesenthin, Mason Barrows and a decision by Donald Nde preceded the highlight of the night.  Max Fick faced the 6th ranked AAA heavyweight from Minnetonka, pinning him in the 3rd period.  The Skippers prevailed, however, 43-33.

Highlights from the JV squad include Adam Heath going 2-1 on the evening, Sebastian Zamorano and Travis Pham going 1-0 and Omar Abdelal going 3-0.

The Royals will travel to Fargo, ND on Wednesday for the annual Rumble on the Red.  Action begins Thursday morning and concludes Friday afternoon.
