Seniors
They have all worked extremely hard and set a great example to the underclassmen. Come out to the home game and help us celebrate the dedication and sacrifices made by these young men. Looking for lots of posters to line the glass celebrating all of the seniors!
Dear Wes,
I wanted to write and thank you and your boys so much for volunteering at our event on Saturday. All the guys came, and everyone was on time! As usual, they did a great job and impressed quite a few people. Direct quote from a coach: "Those high school guys were some of the best referees we've ever had for poly hockey. Keep them coming back!"
Something that numerous people noticed is that they really seemed to care about doing a good job, and it showed. People expected them to show up acting like they were being forced to be there, and that wasn't the case. It was so great to really see them interact with the athletes and chat with them.
Other Areas of Special Olympics MN has resorted to hiring outside hockey refs for their competitions, but we have been able to save that cost because of your guys. (and actually were told on Saturday that your guys are sometimes better than the hired refs!!)
During the second shift, I SO appreciated the willingness of Blake, Logan, Marshall, and Austen to stay after their games were done and help us tear down. It really made a difference for us!
I hope that you'll also be able to share this information with the parents; I'm not sure you can ever have too much positive feedback about your children! Our athletes, coaches, spectators, and event management team all left the event on Saturday knowing that the Woodbury Boy's Hockey Team is an impressive group of young men and we want them back!
Good luck this season! Hope to work with you guys again next year!
Kate
With all new varsity players except four, growing pains have been in abundance for the Royals boys hockey team.
One has to be careful about jumping to conclusions from a win-loss record.
A goal-filled third period alone provided plenty of action when Woodbury and Stillwater tangled on Thursday, Feb. 6.
A pair of third period goals cost the Woodbury Royals boys hockey team in a 5-3 loss to Suburban East Conference rival Park.
The Woodbury boys hockey team had Roseville in a 0-0 deadlock through two periods, but a couple late goals spoiled the Royals’ hopes for their first Suburban East Conference road win of the year on Thursday, Jan. 16.
If things go in the Woodbury Royals’ favor on Thursday, two streaks will end against Park.
Woodbury held off a big third-period rally by rival Park to earn its first Suburban East Conference win of the season.
Woodbury overcame a 39-18 shot difference to keep Cretin-Derham Hall on the heels of their skates.
Jack Glaeser knew exactly what he needed to do in order to get his first career hat trick.
